The Story Behind San Jose Handyman
San Jose Handyman is a local repair service for homeowners, renters and landlords across the city and the towns around it. We focus on the small and mid-sized jobs that keep a house comfortable and working — patching drywall, rehanging doors, swapping fixtures and fans, mounting TVs, fixing leaky faucets and running toilets, repairing fences and gates, and taking care of seasonal upkeep before the rains arrive.
Housing here covers a lot of ground. There are Victorian and Craftsman homes near downtown and in Naglee Park and Hanchett Park, Spanish and Mediterranean revivals in the Rose Garden and Willow Glen, post-and-beam Eichlers with walls of glass, thousands of 1950s through 1970s ranch homes across Cambrian, Blossom Valley, Berryessa and Evergreen, and a growing share of condos and townhomes with HOA rules to follow. We adjust our approach to each one, from old plaster and lath to tongue-and-groove Eichler ceilings to building rules about elevator reservations and work hours.
We take on the whole list, including the jobs a lot of handymen leave off it: ceiling fans and the fan-rated boxes behind them, light fixtures, dimmers and smart switches, hardwired doorbells and thermostats, faucets, toilets, disposals and supply lines. Our licensed electricians and plumbers make those connections, so nothing gets split across three different companies. What we offer is careful, tidy work and an honest quote before we start. Most of our calls come from people who want one dependable number to call for the whole to-do list.
